JOB SUMMARY
The University of Connecticut (UConn) Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking a Systems Administrator 2 to serve as an AI Administrator supporting the University’s enterprise artificial intelligence platforms and services. This position is responsible for the administration, governance, security coordination, operational support, and user enablement of centrally supported AI services, including Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI ChatGPT, Anthropic Claude, Microsoft Azure AI Services, and related AI platforms and integrations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position is an in-person position at the Storrs campus, with the option for several days remote per week.
- Administer enterprise AI services, including Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI ChatGPT, Anthropic Claude, and other centrally supported AI tools and services.
- Configure and maintain AI platform settings, administrative consoles, workspace settings, feature availability, model access options, connectors, plugins, agents, and related service controls.
- Manage AI service lifecycle activities, including platform onboarding, configuration changes, release updates, service health monitoring, incident coordination, vendor escalations, and operational communications.
- Monitor service availability, adoption, utilization, feature usage, support trends, and platform performance using available administrative dashboards, reports, logs, and analytics.
- Participate in small-to-medium AI service projects from planning through implementation, ensuring reliable operations, appropriate documentation, and alignment with institutional requirements.
- Collaborate with information security, privacy, compliance, legal, procurement, accessibility, and data governance stakeholders to ensure AI services are configured and operated in accordance with University expectations.
- Assist faculty, staff, students, and researchers in understanding how to use supported AI tools effectively, responsibly, and securely.
- Conduct or assist with workshops, office hours, consultations, demonstrations, and training sessions on Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and related AI services.
- Develop and maintain user-facing documentation, FAQs, quick-start guides, training materials, responsible-use guidance, support scripts, and knowledge base articles for AI services.
- Provide consultation to departments and units on selecting the appropriate supported AI tool for their use case, understanding data handling requirements, and identifying when additional review or approval is needed.
- Performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Eight (8) years of directly related IT experience, OR Associate’s degree in a relevant field plus six (6) years of related experience, OR Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus four (4) years of related experience.
- Experience administering enterprise IT systems, cloud services, SaaS applications, collaboration platforms, identity-integrated services, or other centrally managed technology services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, ChatGPT, Anthropic Claude, Azure AI services, or comparable AI-enabled enterprise platforms.
- Demonstrated knowledge of information security, privacy, data protection, compliance, and risk management concepts as they apply to enterprise applications and cloud services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of generative AI tools and enterprise AI service concepts, including common use cases, limitations, data handling risks, user enablement needs, and responsible AI practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 services, Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Purview, SharePoint, Teams, or related Microsoft enterprise administration tools.
- Experience administering or supporting OpenAI ChatGPT Enterprise, ChatGPT Edu, Anthropic Claude Enterprise, Claude for Education, or comparable enterprise AI platforms.
- Experience with Azure AI services, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Services, Azure Monitor, Azure Policy, Azure RBAC, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, or Azure Cost Management.
- Experience with AI platform governance, responsible AI practices, acceptable use guidance, AI risk assessment, AI service intake, or enterprise AI operating models.
- Experience supporting higher education technology environments, research computing, academic technology, student-facing services, or enterprise services in a university setting.
- Experience or demonstrated familiarity with AI security topics such as prompt injection, data leakage, model misuse, connector risk, oversharing, content safety, auditability, and human oversight.

The University of Connecticut, Information Technology Services (ITS), is seeking a highly technical and self-motivated Audio Visual Technician 2 to provide broad technology support for UConn Athletics. The successful candidate is an energetic AV and IT professional who is committed to delivering best-in-class services in fast-paced, high-visibility environments. Under limited supervision, this position supports the wide range of audio visual, computing, endpoint, application, and related technical systems used by UConn's intercollegiate athletics programs, athletic facilities, offices, team spaces, and event venues. The anticipated focus of the role is approximately 60% audio visual technology and 40% general computer and technical support, although priorities may shift based on Athletics schedules and operational needs. The position analyzes needs, troubleshoots issues, recommends solutions, and supports the installation, configuration, operation, and ongoing improvement of technologies used by coaches, student-athletes, Athletics staff, event personnel, and University partners.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides advanced technical support for the audio visual, computing, endpoint, application, peripheral, streaming, conferencing, presentation, display, control, and related technology systems used by UConn Athletics across athletic venues, team facilities, offices, meeting spaces, and event environments.
- Uses standard and advanced diagnostic techniques to analyze, identify, and resolve complex issues involving AV hardware and software, computers, mobile devices, peripherals, applications, operating systems, network connectivity, signal flow, control systems, and system integrations.
- Provides on-site and remote technology support for Athletics staff, coaches, student-athletes, athletic events, team activities, meetings, recruiting functions, presentations, and other time-sensitive operations, including rapid response to incidents that may affect day-to-day work, practices, competitions, broadcasts, or event readiness.
- Collaborate with senior technical personnel, Athletics staff, vendors, and integrators in the installation, configuration, testing, deployment, upgrade, and reconfiguration of AV systems, computers, mobile devices, peripherals, applications, and other specialized Athletics technologies.
- Reads and interprets system diagrams, schematics, technical manuals, signal-flow documentation, and construction or installation drawings.

- Carries out progressively larger technical assignments with minimal assistance and prepares clear summaries of technical project work, findings, and recommendations.
- Responds to inquiries from Athletics staff, coaches, student-athletes, event personnel, University departments, and other stakeholders; interprets user needs; and communicates problem status, resolution, and follow-up actions.
- Develops plans and processes that improve service availability, continuity, supportability, event readiness, endpoint reliability, and operational resilience for Athletics technology systems.
- Contributes to technical projects as part of cross-functional teams and may coordinate defined portions of AV installations, computer deployments, application rollouts, venue upgrades, event-technology deployments, or service improvements.
- Provides technical training, guidance, and documentation for AV systems, computers, mobile devices, applications, and related technologies to Athletics users, student employees, event staff, support personnel, and other technical staff.
- May supervise, train, schedule, or provide work direction to student employees or support staff.
- Uses the University's central ticketing and documentation systems to record, track, communicate, and resolve incidents, requests, changes, and problems.
- Maintains awareness of Athletics schedules, venue requirements, team workflows, and operational priorities and coordinates preventive maintenance, system checks, software or device updates, and change activities to minimize disruption to daily operations, practices, competitions, and events.

- Experience with AV-over-IP, networked audio or video, and the networking concepts used to support both AV and endpoint technologies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer and maintain a highly available Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) deployment consisting of redundant virtual Policy Administration, Monitoring, and Policy Service Nodes located across geographically separated data centers.
- Manage enterprise RADIUS authentication supporting secure wireless services ensuring reliable authentication for thousands of campus users and devices.
- Administer Cisco ISE TACACS+ infrastructure providing authentication, authorization, and accounting services for enterprise network infrastructure devices.
- Lead lifecycle management of the Cisco ISE environment, including software upgrades, patch management, certificate lifecycle management, licensing, backup and recovery, health monitoring, and disaster recovery testing.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve authentication and authorization policies supporting wired, wireless, VPN, and infrastructure administration services.

- Demonstrated written communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience integrating Cisco ISE with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, PKI, Cisco Catalyst Center, or enterprise certificate services.
- Experience implementing or supporting EAP-TLS onboarding software such as SecureW2 Join Now, EduRoam Configuration Assistance Tool (CAT), or similar.
- Experience administering Cisco Catalyst and/or Juniper (HPE) Mist wireless infrastructure supporting EduRoam or other federated wireless authentication services.
- Experience administering Infoblox IPAM, DNS, and DHCP services.
- Experience administering enterprise network monitoring and management platforms including SNMP, Syslog, telemetry, configuration management, and performance analytics.
- Experience automating enterprise infrastructure administration utilizing Python, PowerShell, REST APIs, or Ansible.
- Experience administering or performing policy management on enterprise firewalls such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco.
- Experience with using ISE to implement user security tagging in an enterprise environment.
- Cisco CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, Cisco Certified Specialist – Identity Services, Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator Associate, or comparable professional certifications.
- Experience supporting large, complex higher education, healthcare, research, or similarly distributed enterprise environments.
