JOB SUMMARY

The University of Connecticut is seeking an enthusiastic individual to fill a full-time position as a Business Systems Analyst in the Information Technology Services organization. This position will provide leadership in the support and troubleshooting of various systems managed by the Enterprise Financials Team. Primary duties will include the administration and support of the Kuali Financial System and secondary roles with Jaggaer/SciQuest E-Procurement and Concur Travel and Expense.

As part of the Enterprise Financials Team, the Business Systems Analyst will interact with various members of the University community, including both operational and academic areas, to understand, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system problems. Working with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s), the selected candidate will propose solutions, changes, and enhancements to the functionality, configuration, and security of our enterprise applications which meet the requirements of the University, match the industry best practices, and observe sound financial principles.

The Business Systems Analyst will work independently with minimal supervision and at the same time coordinate their activities with other team members. The selected candidate will be expected to apply a high degree of technical expertise and advanced knowledge of financial system management and accounting principles to provide advanced user support, coordinate activities between various constituents, and understand the requirements and needs of the University community. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Applications Administrator 1

  • Provides troubleshooting, support, and system administration for the University’s financial enterprise applications.
  • Develops and maintains system documentation including but not limited to Functional Specifications, Business Processes, and Solution Analyses.
  • Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts, External Vendors, and University Leadership to analyze issues and propose solutions.
  • Executes changes to application configurations, workflows, audit rules, security, etc.
  • Works with ITS Technical teams to design, enhance, and implement integrations between university applications, adhering to UConn’s standard practices and the defined software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Participates in projects and provides status updates to management.
  • Tests system enhancements and bug fixes; providing feedback to the development team.
  • Maintains technical expertise through review of professional journals, attendance at conferences and seminars, and other professional activities.
  • Participates in the staff rotation for daily operational tasks performed by the Enterprise Financials Team including batch processing.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Additional Job Duties for the Applications Administrator 2:

  • Provides advanced troubleshooting, support, and system administration for the University’s financial enterprise applications.
  • Research and recommend new technology solutions to adapt, enhance, or expand university financial applications and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provides leadership in the execution of projects in conjunction with the ITS Project Management Office.
  • Collaborates in the preparation of project plans for future development, upgrades, and integrations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applications Administrator 1

  • Associate degree and 4 years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience OR 6 years of related experience.
  • Experience identifying and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Knowledge of common system to system integration practices.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse groups in a project team setting.

Additional Minimum Qualifications Applications Administrator 2

  • Associate degree and 6 years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of related experience OR 8 years of related experience.
  • Evidence of experience supporting and troubleshooting ERP systems (Financial, HR/Payroll, T&E, or Student) in a large data processing environment.
  • Experience designing and supporting integrations between one or more systems.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Applications Administrator 1

  • Two (2) years or more of business analysis/system support experience.
  • Experience supporting Financial, HR/Payroll, Travel and Expense, or Student Applications.
  • Experience writing SQL.
  • Experience leading process improvement efforts.

Additional Preferred Qualifications for Applications Administrator 2

  • Five (5) years or more of business analysis/system support experience.
  • System Administration Experience with Kuali Financials, SAP, Banner, Workday or equivalent.
  • Project leadership experience in development and implementation of Financial, Payroll or Travel Applications.
  • Knowledge of or experience with overnight batch processing/scheduling techniques using tools such as Control-M or equivalent.
  • Knowledge in at least 2 of the following:  Travel and Entertainment, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, Capital Assets, Contracts and Grants, HR/Payroll.
  • Experience working in Government or Higher Education.

IT Team Lead 2: Email and Collaboration

JOB SUMMARY

The University of Connecticut, Information Technology Services (ITS) Department, seeks an experienced IT Team Lead and Compliance Administrator for the Email and Collaboration Team. The IT Team Lead will provide leadership to a diverse technical team responsible for centralized Microsoft 365 (M365) and email services, including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365 administration, account provisioning, Listserv management, mass mail distribution, and email routing.

In addition to leadership responsibilities, this role has a strong technical focus, particularly in managing and implementing Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies within the M365 environment via Microsoft Purview. The successful candidate will actively engage in hands-on technical work, ensuring compliance standards and best practices are maintained.

Candidates should have a solid understanding of technical infrastructure, application design, and enterprise email services. Effective communication skills and the ability to maintain collaborative relationships with technical teams and business stakeholders across the University are essential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies to ensure compliance with university policies and security best practices.
  • Designs, architects, and administers M365 services, including Email, SharePoint, Teams, and Microsoft Purview.
  • Ensure strong security posture and system reliability for critical infrastructure and services.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, IT professionals and the University community regarding email services.
  • Set direction and define technologies for infrastructure, applications, automation, and integration.
  • Manage team project.
  • Perform related duties, as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Ten years of related experience; or an associate degree and eight years of related experience; or a bachelor's degree and six years of related experience.
  2. One year of experience serving as a supervisor of a moderate-sized department or leading major projects.
  3. Experience leading and supervising technical staff.
  4. Demonstrated experience communicating effectively through both oral and written means.
  5. Experience in preparing clear documentation.
  6. Experience managing an M365 environment.
  7. Knowledge of compliance management within M365.
  8. Knowledge of system design/analysis, application design/development, and programming.
  9. Knowledge of server/system automation.
  10. Skill in critical thinking, problem-solving, and analysis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience with compliance management in M365.
  2. Knowledge of email security best practices.
  3. Proficient in PowerShell.
  4. Experience with automating business processes.
  5. Experience with planning, prioritization, and organization of assigned tasks.
  6. Knowledge of intermediate/advanced infrastructure and security topics including networking, firewalls, threat detection, configuration management, vulnerability analysis, and multifactor authentication.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time position that may require working occasional weekends and outside normal work hours. Salary range for the IT Team Lead 2 is $90,485 to $117,630. Salary will be commensurate with the successful candidate's background and experience.

JOB SUMMARY

This position in the University’s Information Technology Services department is responsible for managing and troubleshooting large and complex network systems for the University. Working under a supervisor's guidance, the position applies advanced networking skills in configuration, analysis, and support of the network. The position serves the network needs of academic, administrative, research programs, and students.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain documentation of network systems.
  • Monitor and maintain the high availability and functionality of university network systems.
  • Using a broad knowledge of network hardware, software, and related systems to perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network issues in large-scale systems.
  • Provide emergency response and repair for network outages during on and off-peak hours as needed to ensure optimal service levels and minimize user disruption and network downtime.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users and other junior network administrators.
  • Communicate plans and status of network systems to teams and/or the university community.
  • Assist Senior Engineers with design, planning, configuration, and implementation of modern network systems for medium to large projects.
  • Perform other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of documented experience in networking, OR 8 years of experience in an enterprise network.
  2. Experience with implementation and troubleshooting of layer 2-3 switching and routing technologies from a major network vendor (cisco, juniper, arista, etc.).
  3. Competent working knowledge of advanced routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) with an overall understanding of routing concepts, operation and troubleshooting.
  4. Experience with firewalls from a major vendor.
  5. Experience with modern network monitoring and management systems such as SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.
  6. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure systems.
  7. Experience monitoring network performance and troubleshooting issues using various tools and techniques.
  8. Must be a US citizen

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Demonstrated experience in the automation of processes using a scripting language.
  2. Demonstrated experience in one or more specialty areas such as VoIP, Wireless (Wi-Fi), Cloud Networking (Azure), and network monitoring/management systems.
