JOB SUMMARY
The University of Connecticut (UConn), Information Technology Services (ITS) Department is seeking an IT Manager for Identity and Access Management. The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading a diverse team that manages centralized IAM technologies that include SailPoint IdentityNow, Microsoft Active Directory / Entra ID, identity data, account operations, email services, and the Microsoft Office 365 suite. The candidate is expected to work with leadership and business stakeholders across the University to maintain strong working relationships and further the goals of IAM at UConn.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedules, assigns, oversees, and reviews the work of staff.
- Responsible for hiring, managing, training, and evaluating staff.
- Determines team priorities and plans teamwork.
- Set direction and define technologies for infrastructure, applications, automation, and integration.
- Analyzes and recommends changes for improved technological performance.
- Prepares budget requests as part of the overall budget planning process and manages established budget.
- Oversees upgrades to systems and applications.
- Works with IT staff to identify and resolve system errors.
- Identifies and directs staff to work with vendors and management to develop or enhance products.
- Maintains accountability for ensuring the availability and continuity of services or systems.
- Ensure strong security posture and system reliability for critical infrastructure and services.
- Communicate with stakeholders, IT professionals, and the University community regarding IAM technologies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ten years of related experience; or an associate degree and eight years of related experience; or a bachelor's degree and six years of related experience.
- Two years of experience serving as a supervisor of a moderate-sized department or leading major projects.
- Ability to lead and supervise technical staff.
- Ability to prioritize tasks across a wide array of technologies.
- Experience leading major projects and working with a project management office.
- Experience leading IAM services.
- Knowledge of IAM technologies and toolsets such as Active Directory, Entra ID, Single Sign-On.
- Experience with information security and compliance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of a designated Director, the IT Manager will be accountable for developing strategies related to data warehousing, analytics, modeling, and reporting for internal and external partners across the University. The IT Manager will provide oversight and direction to a team of technical professionals responsible for evolving current data processes, architecture, standards, systems, analyses and solutions. This position will provide domain expertise in data management, data governance, data modeling, data security, and reporting tools towards the development of future University reporting solutions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct the activities of staff, including identifying staffing needs and setting work priorities. Responsible for hiring, managing, training, and evaluating staff.
- Provide technical leadership in designing, developing, scheduling and implementing IT services, applications, automation and integration.
- Establish best practices and standards for data management, data integration, data warehousing, business intelligence, analytics and data governance.
- Oversee the data analytics and data science function and set key priorities and direction.
- Evaluate and recommend changes for improved technological performance, data quality, scalability and best practices.
- Responsible for implementing projects that support strategic data priorities. Execute operational plans for information delivery.
- Acts as the liaison to stakeholders, IT professionals, and the University community regarding data and reporting technologies.
- Work with key stakeholders to define requirements used to develop and implement solutions including data models, reports, and dashboards.
- Work with data engineers to guide development of ETL processes that move data between the various business applications and the warehouse.
- Define standards for ETL processes, data structures, and data organization.
- Enforce coding standards, peer reviews, and automation for reliable, efficient operations.
- Ensure strong security posture and system reliability for critical infrastructure and services.
- Support the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of University information as part of the overall University Information Security Program.
- Maintain accountability for ensuring the availability and continuity of services or systems.
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, by aligning priorities and communicating progress effectively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Systems Administrator 1:
- Compliance Administration: Monitor and manage compliance features within Microsoft Purview, including data classification, retention policies, and audit logging.
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Policy Management: Assist in designing, configuring, implementing, and maintaining DLP policies across Microsoft 365 (e.g., Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams).
- Security and Threat Management: Collaborate with Security, Identity, and Email teams to implement basic threat protection measures and ensure secure communication.
- Monitoring/Reporting: Create and maintain dashboards/reports to track compliance, DLP violations, and system performance metrics.
- Training/Support: Lead the education of end-users and stakeholders on compliance policies, data protection best practices, and incident resolution procedures. Create and maintain detailed end-user Knowledge Base articles and training materials.
- Self-education: Maintain a high level of general and specialized knowledge, coupled with significant working experience, to make informed technical recommendations and drive innovation.
- Regulatory Alignment: Work closely with legal, risk, and security teams to align Microsoft 365 configurations with standards such as FERPA, HIPAA, and other relevant frameworks, and ensure ongoing compliance.

JOB SUMMARY
This is a general posting to fill a role anywhere from an entry-level network associate to a senior engineer. Candidates will be selected based on qualifications for the senior most role first.
CEN, through The University of Connecticut (UConn) Information Technology Services (ITS), has an opportunity for a network professional to join the network services team. Under the direction of the Engineering Team Lead, this position encompasses the management of a Tier2 service-provider network with relevant services including DIA, MPLS VPNs, managed-firewall, hosted DNS, content-filtering, internet-exchange peerings, content caching, and more. Individuals considered for this position must be highly motivated, work well individually and in teams, exercise good judgment, and understand and evaluate complex, interrelated network systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Junior Network Engineer/Network Administrator
- Ensure the continuous, uninterrupted availability and functionality of the network.
- Perform installation, provisioning, and decommissioning of devices and services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network related problems, occasionally under extreme pressure.
- Manage timely response to service requests and incidents within ticketing systems.
- Manage system logs and monitoring data, including applications programming for reports.

- Lead business continuity/disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
- Oversee network implementation processes, including setting schedules and budgets.
- Serve as the final escalation point for incidents, requests, design reviews, and vendor escalations.
- May represent team and organization on advisory boards, councils, forums, etc.
